This Zodiac depicts 12 of the 13 animals that were called
to BUDDHA's bedside as he was dying. He told them that if they paid homage to him, he would name a year in a 12 year rotation after them. Thus the oriental zodiac was created. The cat ate the rat at the deathbed and was banished in disgrace. |
